COVID-19 Relief Interventions in Schools for Mandela Day

The 18 July 2021 marked the 12th Nelson Mandela International Day.  Due to the pandemic and unrest, the Foundation celebrated Back to School for a Day on Mandela Day differently this year. While it was not possible to gather in large groups for volunteer activities and acts of kindness, the Foundation launched its COVID-19 relief three-month campaign for schools across the country, calling upon collective action and active citizenship.

Our COVID-19 relief interventions focus on appropriate sanitation, classroom digitalisation, infrastructure upgrades, and food security to continue teaching and learning as required by many of the schools we work in.  Interested corporates are welcome to pledge their support by clicking on the link.

We are planning a virtual press briefing in August to acknowledge the contributions of our donors who have committed.
