On 18 July, Adopt-a-School Foundation joined forces with Siqalo Foods, who undertook their Back to School for Mandela Day at Nageng Primary School in Vosloorus. A total number of 35 Siqalo Foods volunteers rolled up their sleeves to create a vegetable garden and renovate the Grade R play area of the school. Activities at the Grade R play area included cleaning the play area, removal of vegetation and weeds in the sand pit, fixing the wooden playing equipment and swings, and painting.

The vegetable garden was implemented with the support of Eco Culture. Activities at the garden included tree planting, garden maintenance, irrigation system installation, installing compost bins made from pallet wood, and training for the school.
