Back to School Party — Adopt-a-School Foundation

The Back to School Party is the Adopt-a-School Foundation's flagship annual fundraising event, bringing together South Africa's leading business leaders, philanthropists and education champions for an unforgettable evening in support of quality education.

Hosted by the Foundation's Chairperson, President Cyril Ramaphosa, the event has become one of South Africa's most anticipated corporate fundraising evenings. Since its inception in 2006, the Back to School Party has raised more than R55 million, helping to transform rural and township schools through the Foundation's Whole School Development model.

Each year, more than 600-800 guests, representing over 110 companies, step out of the boardroom and back into the classroom by swapping business attire for school uniforms or sports kits. The result is a unique evening that combines nostalgia, entertainment and purpose while raising vital funds to improve educational outcomes for learners across South Africa.
