Every learner deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Yet for many young people, the journey from Grade 8 to Grade 12 is filled with challenges that can limit their opportunities and future aspirations.
Thanks to the generous support of Greenstreet, Adopt-a-School Foundation is helping 444 learners and 14 educators at Ditsepu Secondary School build the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to succeed in English, Mathematics and ICT.
At the heart of the programme is quality teaching. Fourteen educators are receiving subject-specific professional development that strengthens their teaching practice, while learners benefit from improved curriculum resources and support in subjects that are critical to academic achievement and future career opportunities.
To ensure that support is targeted where it is needed most, independent baseline assessments in Mathematics and English First Additional Language have been conducted for Grades 8 and 9. These assessments provide valuable insight into learners’ needs, enabling interventions to be tailored and progress to be measured throughout the programme.
Ditsepu Secondary School is also benefiting from the Adopt-a-School Foundation’s Whole School Development approach. Alongside curriculum support, the school participates in the ICT Educator Development and Robotics Programme and the Health, Sanitation and Sexuality Education Project. A completed palisade fence has also created a safer and more secure learning environment, ensuring that learners and educators can focus on teaching and learning.
With the project set to conclude early 2027, every lesson taught, every educator empowered and every learner supported brings Ditsepu Secondary School one step closer to a brighter future. Through Greenstreet’s partnership with the Adopt-a-School Foundation, 444 learners will receive more than academic support, they are gaining the opportunity to realise their potential, complete Grade 12 with confidence and build brighter futures for themselves, their families and their communities.
