Five children, Five bicycles and endless impact. On 12 February 2025, Enaex Africa donated bicycles to learners at Tsakane Primary in Krugersdorp, children who walked long distances each day just to reach their classrooms.
The bicycle will ease the long commutes faced by some of Tsakane’s senior learners. The bikes are a game-changer, said Maboko Ndlovu, Project Manager for Leadership and Curriculum Delivery at the Foundation. “These bikes will help with the long distances learners must walk every day and will be particularly useful for those who stay for extra lessons.”
Home to 1,726 learners and 42 educators, Tsakane Primary has been steadily benefiting from the Foundation’s WSD programme through various corporate partners. The school used the handover occasion as a teachable moment, reinforcing road safety protocols and encouraging learners to follow traffic rules while cycling.
For these learners, a bicycle is not just transport, it is more sleep, less fatigue, and a better chance to succeed. It means arriving at school on time, with energy left to dream.
Principal D.N. Chauke and Enaex CFO Cristian Henriquez shared the joy as the bikes rolled in, symbols of freedom, determination, and partnership. Enaex Africa continues to be dream-enablers.
Cristian Henriquez, Chief Financial Officer at Enaex Africa, shared his reflections during the ceremony: “We’re honoured to contribute in ways that have a real impact. Reducing the distance between home and school helps learners focus on what matters most—their education. That’s how we support a future built on excellence.”
Enaex Africa’s commitment to education doesn’t stop at Tsakane. The company is also actively involved at Mante Primary School in Limpopo’s Sekhukhune District, where it supports a school leadership and governance programme, as well as the construction of a new Grade R facility.
At Tsakane Primary, the partnership has already yielded significant results. Over the past year, the school has received a range of educational resources and infrastructure upgrades, including:
- Dictionaries, library books, and a vision support programme that provided spectacles and school shoes
- New science and computer laboratories, a combination court, and five additional classrooms
- A fully equipped feeding scheme kitchen
- Five smart boards, a projector, 60 laptops, and equipment to support coding and robotics
Through meaningful partnerships and a shared vision for quality education, Enaex Africa and the Adopt-a-School Foundation continue to pave the way—one learner, one classroom, and now, one bicycle at a time.
