In partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the Adopt-a-School Foundation handed over vital ICT equipment to Tsakani Primary School in Kagiso on Friday, 18th October 2024.

Ambassador Dong-han Yang, Institutional Development Support Officer from the Gauteng Department of Education, Loraine Mofokeng, and Adopt-a-School Foundation CEO Steven Lebere were warmly welcomed with traditional TshiVenda and TshiTsonga dances performed by learners during the joyful handover ceremony.

Principal D.N. Chauke expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “This donation will be of great help to our 219 learners. We were proud to have the Smart Boards we received mounted and equally happy to demonstrate their use with a lesson conducted by an educator and our learners. Our Computer Centre is also ready.” He added that educators had been trained by the Department of Basic Education in robotics and coding, ensuring the school is well-prepared to integrate the new technology.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea’s generous donation to Tsakani Primary included five Smart Boards, a projector, 60 laptops, and coding and robotics equipment.

In addition to this handover, the Embassy has donated approximately R5.5 million worth of ICT equipment to five other schools adopted by the Foundation. These donations include Samsung tablets, Asus laptops, MS Office software, robotics kits, and interactive Smart Boards, significantly enhancing digital learning across these schools.
