Hlahlindlela Secondary School classroom’s official handover

On the 10th of June, the Foundation was delighted to visit Hlahlindlela Secondary School in Waterfall, KwaZulu- Natal, for an official handover of two classrooms donated by Grindrod. In attendance at the handover was the Foundation’s executive team and officials from the Department of Basic Education, and a large team from Grindrod, including Mr Xolani Mbambo, the Chief Executive Officer of Grindrod Freight Services Division.

The partnership with Grindrod has lasted since 2010, with Grindrod supporting six schools across KwaZulu-Natal, with the aim of enhancing teaching and learning. This has entailed over 51 projects which have addressed the various pillars of our Whole School Development model. Hlahlindlela Secondary School has been under adoption since 2013, and we are proud of Grindrod’s contributions toward improving education delivery at the school.
