In August 2024, the Adopt-a-School Foundation, in collaboration with Adapt IT Holdings Proprietary Limited, hosted an ICT Change Management Workshop aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of previously implemented ICT projects at Modilati Secondary School in Hammanskraal and Hlahlindlela Secondary School in KwaZulu-Natal.
The workshops focused on key areas, including resourcing media centres, training desktop support technicians, and establishing coding and robotics clubs to inspire innovation. Additionally, the sessions emphasised the provision of both online and offline learning materials, classroom digitisation, and equipping schools with interactive smart boards to enable advanced, technology-driven education. This initiative is poised to benefit five schools, reaching 6,726 learners and 187 educators, providing them with interactive, tech-infused learning experiences that align with modern educational standards.
As part of its commitment to ICT resourcing, Adapt IT has supported five schools—Mzomhle, Kwazamokuhle, Hlahlindlela, Modilati, and Lodirile Secondary—with coding and robotics training, and club activities are already underway. Furthermore, Modilati, Hlahlindlela, and Mzomhle Secondary Schools have received ICT Change Management training, which was highly praised by educators.
This training included practical sessions on leveraging tools such as ChatGPT, Canva, Google Forms, Microsoft Education, YouTube, and other platforms, aimed at enhancing classroom teaching and learning. The programme reflects a significant investment in the digital future of South African schools, equipping educators and learners with the skills needed to excel in an increasingly tech-driven world.
