Adopt-a-School Foundation conducted a Leadership Advancement Training programme for Boitekong Secondary School in Northwest, funded by Merafe Resources. The 3-day leadership training programme catered for 75 educators and School Management empowering them with strong leadership skills to function as leaders, whilst improving teamwork and the practice of leadership in the school.

The academic performance of the school declined over the past 5years from 91% in 2012 to 74% in 2018, the entire staff showed positive spirit towards the need to improve on the results. A brainstorming session was held to get a view, from the staff, on the cause of the decline and ways to improve. A leadership activity was conducted and encouraged staff participation with positive feedback. All educators shared positive and encouraging views to be implemented going forward.

The School Principal and Deputies were very thankful for the opportunity presented to them, not only will the programme benefit their school, but will also help the individual educator develop personal leadership and growth.
