At Adopt-a-School Foundation, transforming education means equipping learners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to thrive in a world defined by technology, innovation, and global collaboration.
This vision came to life in July 2025, when eight learners and educators from Modilati, Mohloli, and Kwazamokuhle Secondary Schools travelled to China to represent South Africa at the World Youth Conference for Peace. This global gathering brought together young leaders from across the world to promote peace and exchange ideas for a better future.
The South African delegation participated in several enriching activities, including:
- Observing the Invention Convention China National Finals
- Taking part in the Youth Science and Innovation Exchange in Zhengzhou, Henan Province
- Participating in cultural exchange programmes in Beijing
- Engaging in peace-focused discussions with peers from around the globe
These experiences broadened their horizons and strengthened their confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, qualities central to our ICT and robotics programmes.
The trip was made possible through the support of the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, Buffalo Logistics, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), and the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF). Their collective support reflects the power of partnership in opening doors to life-changing opportunities.
As the learners return home inspired and empowered, their journey stands as a testament to what is possible when young people are given access to education that embraces technology, creativity, and global citizenship. For Adopt-a-School Foundation, this milestone reaffirms our commitment to building a brighter, tech-savvy future for every learner — one school at a time.
