Welcome to our July 2026 newsletter, covering the months of May, June and July. As we reflect on the past few months, I am filled with gratitude for the continued commitment of our partners, supporters, volunteers and communities who make our work possible.
The past quarter has been one of meaningful action and collaboration. In July, we came together for our Back to School for Mandela Day initiative, bringing partners, volunteers, and stakeholders together to create a lasting impact at a school in Soweto. From improving the school environment to supporting learner wellbeing and creating opportunities for learning and development, the day was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we work together.
Our Mandela Day initiative reflects the heart of Adopt-a-School Foundation’s work: creating safe, inspiring and enabling school environments where learners can learn, grow and reach their full potential. The impact of a day of service extends far beyond the day itself, leaving behind improvements and opportunities that can benefit learners and educators for years to come.
As we celebrate this achievement, we are also looking ahead to one of our most important fundraising events of the year, the Back to School Party. Preparations are well underway for this year’s event, which brings together leaders from business and society in support of education.
The Back to School Party is more than an evening of celebration. It is an opportunity to invest directly in the future of South Africa’s learners and schools. Funds raised through the event enable us to continue implementing our Whole School Development model, supporting schools with infrastructure, leadership and governance, curriculum development, learner wellbeing and other critical interventions.
I therefore invite corporates and organisations that share our commitment to education to join us at this year’s Back to School Party by purchasing a table or seats and bringing your colleagues, clients and partners together for a meaningful evening in support of education. Your participation will help us continue to create opportunities for learners and strengthen the schools and communities we serve.
As we enter the second half of the year, our commitment remains unwavering. Together with our partners, we will continue working to ensure that more learners have access to safe, supportive and enabling learning environments.
Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in our vision and invest in the future of our children. Together, we are building schools, creating opportunities and transforming lives.
