History

The school was opened on 11 October, 1960. Cyril Ramaphosa completed his primary school education at Tshilidzi Primary. 40 years later, he heeded a call to allumni, from his then principal, Stella Nemakhula, for the donation of a fax machine. When he saw the greater needs of the school he established his own NGO, Adopt-a-School Foundation and Tshilidzi was the first school under its adoption programme.
