Leading up to National Child Protection Week, which took place from May 28 to June,04 the Thari Programme organised engaging and informative dialogue sessions at Rekopane and Nkgothatseng Primary Schools in Botshabelo, Free State. These dialogues addressed the crucial topic of positive parenting in the community. A carefully selected group of twenty-five students and their parents, identified from case files, were invited to participate in these impactful sessions. 

The participants openly shared and discussed the various challenges they encountered daily. Notably, the sessions garnered involvement from esteemed organisations such as Child Welfare Bloemfontein, Childline Free State, the National Department of Health (South Africa), the Department of Social Development, Setshabelo Family and Child Services, the Department of Basic Education South Africa, and the South African Police Service. Their collaborative presence emphasised the significance of the discussions and underscored the importance of fostering positive parenting practices within the community.
