Health, Sanitation and Sexuality Education Project Launch at Nageng Primary School

On the 9th of June, the Foundation was thrilled to launch the Health, Sanitation and Sexuality Education Project at Nageng Primary School in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni. Funded by Siqalo Foods, the project will benefit over 500 learners from grades four to seven. The launch was facilitated by Julius Kgole, a well-known actor from the TV show, Skeem Saam. In attendance were three representatives from Siqalo Foods, Nurses from the Poli Clinic, Social workers from the Ekurhuleni Department of Social Development, Social Workers from the Poli Clinic, Health promoters from the Ekurhuleni Health Department, Department of Education District Office Representative (inclusive education) and educators and members of the School Governing Body.

The project aims to educate and empower teenagers (both female and male learners) to make informed sexual decisions to curb teenage pregnancy at schools. The project consists of workshops on sanitation, puberty, teenage pregnancy, toxic masculinity and the importance of education enabling learners to make informed decisions. Learners are engaged with the support of educators, parents, and relevant stakeholders within the community.
