The Presidential Golf Challenge (PGC) 2022 occurred on 11 February at the Atlantic Beach Golf Estate in Melkbosstrand, Cape Town.

The event was hosted by the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) to raise funds for a charity designated by the sitting President while simultaneously facilitating an opportunity for networking between the private sector and the Government.

The Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation was the event’s sole beneficiary, with the Adopt-a-School Foundation as its implementing agent of the sanitation projects in 2019 and 2020 at its selected schools.

The funds raised at the 2020 PGC were allocated to the work of the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation and the construction of three ablution facilities in Eastern KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo.

These projects began mid- 2020 and have been completed. The three schools include two schools in Limpopo, Bodutlulo Secondary School and Tlouatiba Secondary School, and Nongamlana High School in KwaZulu-Natal.

The schools were identified in partnership with the Department of Basic Education, in line with the Sanitation Appropriate for Education (SAFE) initiative.
