School Shoe Handovers

Adopt-a-School Foundation was thrilled to donate 313 school shoes from the Back to School for Mandela Day Campaign to three primary schools in Gauteng and Northwest.

The 2023 Mandela Day Campaign aimed to provide school shoes to underprivileged learners at the beginning of the school year for a more significant impact. This initiative was essential, as many families struggle to afford essential items like school shoes, which can significantly impact a child’s ability to attend school regularly.

Through its funders, the Adopt-a-School Foundation donated 313 pairs of school shoes, benefitting three primary schools in South Africa. Tsakani Primary School in Krugersdorp received 100 pairs of school shoes, while Mosaledi Primary School in the Hammanskraal area also received 100 pairs. The remaining 113 pairs were handed over to Retlagona Primary School in the Northwest, furthering the initiative’s reach. The donation of school shoes will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the learners. Thank you to Phoenix Contact, Royal Haskoning DHV, and Merafe Resources for helping learners in need.
