It was a privilege to see learners discover a bright and in-focus world. On 30th August 2023, the Foundation visited Tsakani Primary School in partnership with Premier Optical to hand over spectacles to 19 of the 312 learners screened through the Mandela Day initiative. Seven learners were referred to Leratong Hospital for various eye conditions. The Foundation is grateful to have had Premier Optical as a sponsor for our Back to School for Mandela Day Campaign.

Principal at Tsakani Primary School, Mr D.N Chauke, said: “We are grateful for the help our learners have received. These young people who received spectacles have been struggling with poor eyesight, unable to see the board for some time. We tried placing them at the front to reduce their struggle, which did not help.  However, the spectacles they receive will go a long way in improving their ability to learn and perform better in school.  I will ensure they will take good care of them. Thank you, Adopt-a-School Foundation and Premier Optical, for thinking of us.”
